The collection of incredible cars is owned by David Peck, a renowned motoring enthusiast who also organises tours. The vehicles on display here are regularly used for rallies, transport, and hire.
The highlight of the collection is the 1925 Studebaker limousine - the only one of its kind in the world. The museum occasionally has exhibits, featuring a work in progress of major maintenance tasks or full restorations, which are interesting for any avid car fan. Visitors can also come to learn how old cars work, as well as display exhibits and pictorials.
Group tours including self-guided tours, a conducted view with the owner, and question-and-answer tours are available. Due to the restricted space available, those requiring disabled or mobility assistance should notify the museum ahead of time. Some of the vehicles on display are officially licensed, and joyrides of the area may be entertained with advanced bookings.
The Motorist Museum is located at 77 Main Street in Gembrook, Victoria. It's open seven days a week, but you need to make an appointment before arrival. Entry fees are $5 for adults, $2 for kids under 16, and $10 for a family (two adults and up to 4 children). Half-price entry is available for Gembrook residents, seniors card holders, concessions cardholders, and authorised groups of at last 20 people.
The museum is nearby many other attractions including Emerald Lake Park, the Bunyip State Park, Kurth Kiln, and the Gillwell Park Scout Camp. Accommodation and lodging options are also available nearby.
